Drupal 6 has come a long way from its initial version. And now I feel that it has finally completed to reach all the potential promised late into the 5.x cycle.
With the release of Panels, the last of the big 'game changing' features available on 5.x has been ported. This is an exciting time. Views, CCK and even wysiwyg api are miles ahead of what we had at the initial release of 6.0 and I couldn't be more excited.

Change can be a dangerous notion on a website, and is something that is made easy and readily available by drupal and other CMS systems. But you must remember that arbitrary change for the sake of change serves no function. And can hurt your website, by disorienting users, and hurt your search engine rankings as well.

While working on various projects with drupal I realized that there is really no one definitive place which lists the concepts that you need to become familiar with when dealing with drupal. So I decided that I would put them in one place for people who maybe are experienced php developers who are trying to learn to work with drupal for the first time.
Right now there are two big CMS systems which have been recently released. As you may or may not know Drupal and Joomla are the two biggest open source CMS solutions. They both have big communites, and both have been used by companies and individuals to make big and important websites. But what the biggest thing that comes to mind is what is the difference between these CMS systems?
The new Joomla 1.5 marks the first Joomla release which gets away from the mambo codebase. It has been completely rewritten from scratch.
We'll as a consultant I build webpages mostly, but because it is drupal, this is not average brochure website stuff. I actively build modules, and improve existing modules as well. Currently I am a project maintainer on drupal.org for the quiz module, what this means is that I do some active development on the module, as well as check other people's code for submission to the module.
This will be my first blog entry. In my blog I plan to talk about drupal, and technology. Drupal, for those of you who don't know is a Content Management System, or CMS. What this allows you to do is easily create automated websites which allow users to interact with one another, and for website owners, and users to post data without necessarily knowing html, php or any web language.
